Alexander Technique: the 90-second preparation

Inhibition and direction — the two core principles of Alexander Technique — are embodied in this breath.

1 · Arrive — 30 seconds

Breathe with Winona using the Alexander Technique pattern: Inhale 4s · exhale 7s · hold 3s. The coach video and the music follow every inhale and exhale, so you do not have to count.

2 · Rehearse — 45 seconds

  1. Picture alexander technique. Feel your feet on the ground and your spine long.
  2. Scan from head to toes. Wherever there is tension, exhale into it.
  3. See your body moving with ease and good form.
  4. If discomfort shows up, you breathe and adjust — no force.
  5. See yourself afterwards: lighter, warmer, more awake.

3 · Anchor — 15 seconds

Roll your shoulders back once. Say quietly: “Light.” In the real moment, repeat the gesture and one long exhale to recall the prepared state.

Afterwards — the check-in

AHΞHA asks you later how it went: worse, as expected, or better. Your answers build your personal proof record.

Why mental rehearsal

Athletes, surgeons and musicians have used imagery for decades: vividly imagining an action engages many of the same brain networks as doing it, and slow exhales shift the body toward its calming (parasympathetic) branch. AHΞHA packs both into one short, repeatable ritual. It is a preparation tool, not a medical treatment.
