Cortisol Spike: the 90-second preparation

After a difficult moment — a heated conversation, unexpected news, a conflict — this pattern is your fastest recovery tool.

1 · Arrive — 30 seconds

Breathe with Global using the Cortisol Spike pattern: Inhale 3s · exhale 8s · hold 4s. The coach video and the music follow every inhale and exhale, so you do not have to count.

2 · Rehearse — 45 seconds

  1. Picture cortisol spike. Let it be exactly as it is — nothing to fix yet.
  2. Notice where you feel it in the body. Breathe into that spot.
  3. See the most difficult moment. Watch yourself stay slow and grounded.
  4. Choose one small thing you will do first, and see yourself doing it.
  5. See yourself afterwards: calmer than you expected, still standing.

3 · Anchor — 15 seconds

Rest one hand on your belly. Say quietly: “Here.” In the real moment, repeat the gesture and one long exhale to recall the prepared state.

Afterwards — the check-in

AHΞHA asks you later how it went: worse, as expected, or better. Your answers build your personal proof record.

Why mental rehearsal

Athletes, surgeons and musicians have used imagery for decades: vividly imagining an action engages many of the same brain networks as doing it, and slow exhales shift the body toward its calming (parasympathetic) branch. AHΞHA packs both into one short, repeatable ritual. It is a preparation tool, not a medical treatment.
