Left Upper Arm Hug: the 90-second preparation

A self-hug breath. Feel the left arm wrapping around your own heart on the long exhale.

1 · Arrive — 30 seconds

Breathe with Helena using the Left Upper Arm Hug pattern: Inhale 5s · hold 1s · exhale 6s · hold 1s. The coach video and the music follow every inhale and exhale, so you do not have to count.

2 · Rehearse — 45 seconds

  1. Picture the start of left upper arm hug. The ground, the air, the people around you.
  2. Feel your first movements — relaxed, precise, economical.
  3. Midway it gets hard. You breathe, drop your shoulders and hold your rhythm.
  4. See your strongest moment: technique clean, mind quiet.
  5. See the finish. You gave everything you planned to give.

3 · Anchor — 15 seconds

Make a loose fist, then open it. Say quietly: “Go.” In the real moment, repeat the gesture and one long exhale to recall the prepared state.

Afterwards — the check-in

AHΞHA asks you later how it went: worse, as expected, or better. Your answers build your personal proof record.

Why mental rehearsal

Athletes, surgeons and musicians have used imagery for decades: vividly imagining an action engages many of the same brain networks as doing it, and slow exhales shift the body toward its calming (parasympathetic) branch. AHΞHA packs both into one short, repeatable ritual. It is a preparation tool, not a medical treatment.
