Brown-Forman Corporation, the famous spirits and wine manufacturer, has increased cash dividends for the
41st consecutive year. Despite a temporary unfavourable wind around its primary product, Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, the company believes it is a temporary decline and a recovery is imminent. Brown-Forman announced a quarterly
dividend payable in January 2025. With recent variations in sales and a
drop in earning, there are questions around the long-term outlook of BF-B Stock. Operational issues in the quarter affected the
profit margin due to reduced whisky and tequila sales. Nevertheless, the company's strategic moves, such as the
acquisition of Diplomtico Rum in perhaps, an attempt to diversify its portfolio and the announcement of a
$400 million share repurchase, indicate a proactive management. However, it isn't currently clear if this will be enough to combat the underperformance seen within the Consumer Defensive Sector.
