Cboe Global Markets (CBOE) has announced several key initiatives including the launch of S&P 500 Variance Futures, expansion of credit futures offerings, and plans to introduce US Treasury Market Volatility Index (VIXTLT). On the earnings side, CBOE reported strong Q1 and Q2 2024 performance, boosted by rising trading volume and data sales, despite occasional underperformance in comparison to competitors. It also reported increasing trading volumes for multiple months in 2024. However, it suffered losses on some days where it still managed to outperform the market.
Insider sales were reported for EVP, CFO Jill Griebenow, COO Christopher Isaacson, and Global President Dave Howson. CBOE also announced the appointment of new board directors, acquired a minority stake in Japannext, and collaboratively launched new index options with MSCI. Critically, CBOE also sought SEC approval for ETF share classes of mutual funds and Solana ETF, but also experienced a setback in its global listings expansion. Adjustments have been made to their digital asset business, introducing new plans for importing global trading into the US, and launching digital assets in collaboration with FTSE Russell.
