Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo Focused on Strategic Technology Trends and AI Advancement, Amid Q3 Earnings Surpassing Estimates

The Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo 2024 was a grand affair with numerous key highlights from their conferences held across various locations including Kochi, Barcelona, Orlando, Tokyo, London, Sydney, and the APAC region. The events focused heavily on Strategic Technology Trends for 2025 and the growth led by AI in data center demand. Cognigy demonstrated AI-First customer service solutions at these conferences.

Gartner's Q3 earnings and revenues were reported to have surpassed estimates. However, Gartner's (IT) shares were reported down by 3.9% since last earnings. Gartner was applauded for its robust growth and there were discussions surrounding its future earnings.

There was an emphasis on AI advancement, trust issues, cost and data challenges; the company is making strategic strides for better IT governance and cybersecurity strategies. Surveys revealed certain shortcomings, for instance, only 33% of employees agreed about consistent delivery on promises by their organisations, and only 48% of digital initiatives meeting business outcome targets.

Gartner pointed out four emerging challenges to delivering value from AI safely and at scale. They estimated that 30% of enterprises will automate more than half of their network activities by 2026, and forecasted major IT spending increases by 2025. Interestingly, power shortages may restrict 40% of AI data centers by 2027.
