Qualcomm (QCOM) has emerged as a solid investment opportunity considering its price point, while its stock holdings have seen some buying and selling from firms such as DF Dent & Co. Inc., iA Global Asset Management Inc., Zacks Investment Management, and Kovitz Investment Group Partners LLC among others. However, some lowered their position, including United Services Automobile Association and EdgePoint Investment Group Inc. Qualcomm's recent earnings report showed a 7.2% drop, but it has been suggested this could rebound. In terms of collaborations, Qualcomm partnered with Canonical to boost AI and IoT innovation on Ubuntu, and with Honeywell for an AI venture in the energy sector. Despite facing competition from Xiaomi in the AI Chip Market, Qualcomm is powering Samsung's Galaxy S25 series and Xiaomiβs new AI smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The company is also gaining traction in the automotive and IoT markets and is shifting focus towards these areas, while targeting a $900B market by 2030. Its expansion into the IoT, XR, and automotive markets in Japan will be driven by newly appointed VP Yasumasa Nakayama. However, Appleβs in-house cellular modem plans could challenge Qualcomm's dominance.
