Investment company,
Dimensional Fund Advisors LP has increased its holdings in
Sempra (SRE). Other investment outfits including
Stifel Financial Corp, Adage Capital Partners and Capital Group Investment Management also increased their stakes in SRE. Despite these, various financial analysts including Jim Cramer and Morgan Stanley have given mixed signals about the company’s performance, with Cramer suggesting SRE could trade lower.
Sempra's Q1 2025 earnings report is anticipated with a focus on CEO Martin’s strategic updates. Following a significant price drop amid global trade tensions in the last month, some investors including Jump Financial LLC and the State of Tennessee Department of Treasury sold their shares of SRE. Sempra recently announced an EPC contract with Bechtel for
Port Arthur LNG phase 2 as part of its expansion strategy, which was fuelled by the sale of its Mexican assets. Its first renewable natural gas contract under a Californian program was also approved. Despite the company’s updated strategies, Sempra shares stumbled after a bleak 2025 profit forecast due to high costs.
