Wabtec (WAB) has seen a recently fluctuating stock performance with periods of both outperforming and underperforming the market. However, the company has definitely been making noteworthy strides in its business ventures. Recently, it made strategic acquisitions worth $110M to bolster EPS growth and enlarged its transit business capabilities. Equally notable has been the company's successful implementation of an advanced collision avoidance system at a Glencore Coal site and moves across the globe, including confirming a significant locomotive deal with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, and supply of passenger information systems for Munich S-Bahn trains. Domestically, Wabtec reached new power grounds through its evolution series Tier 4 locomotive, which presents a feasible bridge to a net-zero future in the freight rail sector, and launched a new railcar tech - the Commander NXT. Wabtec's stock was upgraded and its EPS estimates have been adjusted northbound. Despite mixed market performance, Wabtec reported strong Q3 2024 financial results and raised profit forecast due to strong freight and transit demand.
