Late-night snack craving: how to prepare in 90 seconds

Late-night cravings are common, especially after a long day. They often come from stress, boredom or habit rather than real hunger. A short routine helps you notice the craving and choose what you really want. For every body, every size.

What happens in your body and mind

A craving rises, peaks and falls again, usually within minutes. A slow exhale and a clear picture of how you want to feel tomorrow morning help you ride the wave instead of acting on it right away.

Your 90-second routine with Zineb

1. Arrive, 30 seconds. Breathe with Zineb: Inhale 4s · hold 1s · exhale 7s · hold 2s. The first half of the video plays while you breathe in, the second half while you breathe out. The FLOW line shows you when to breathe, and the music follows your breath.

2. Visualize, 45 seconds. Five short scenes walk you through the snack craving:

  1. Picture the moment the snack craving usually shows up. The place, the time, the trigger.
  2. Feel the urge rise like a wave. Watch it — you do not have to obey it.
  3. Breathe out slowly. See the wave peak… and begin to fall.
  4. See yourself doing your replacement: water, a short walk, a message to a friend.
  5. See yourself ten minutes later, glad you let the wave pass.

3. Anchor, 15 seconds. Take one slow sip of water. Say quietly: “Pass.” Use the same gesture later, in the real moment, with one long exhale.

Why it works

Mental rehearsal, picturing a situation step by step before it happens, uses many of the same brain networks as the real action. Athletes, musicians and surgeons use it to prepare. Slow breathing with a longer exhale shifts the body towards its calming, parasympathetic side. AHΞHA puts both into one short routine you can repeat whenever you need it. Read the research.
