Coinbase, the well-known cryptocurrency exchange, has been making numerous moves recently. It suffered a setback when its inclusion in the S&P 500 was snubbed, resulting in a 10% stock dip. However, the company remains upbeat and announced acquiring a team to bolster its privacy efforts. It confirmed plans to halt trading of meme coins Floki, Turbo and Giga in New York, while revealing support for two altcoins on the Ethereum network, encouraging price rallies. This came following their successful registration in India and Argentina, hinting at global expansion.
In addition, Coinbase enjoys another victory as Vermont dropped its staking case against the company, similar to the SEC's earlier decision. Further, the exchange recently debuted the Base Ecosystem Group on the Echo platform via its investment arm, Coinbase Ventures. The company plans to hire 1,000 U.S. workers, following recent positive shifts in crypto policy.
Altuist, a wealthtech company, has recruited a former Coinbase executive to further strengthen its tech advantage. Also in a new development, Coinbase introduced Ada and Natural Gas futures contracts, adding diversity to its existing offerings. Finally, Coinbase has won its registration with India’s Financial Intelligence Unit, paving the way for its comeback to Indian markets after a two year hiatus.
