Electronic Arts (EA) is experimenting with
in-game ads within AAA titles.
EA's sports segment is thriving, with the announcement of
EA SPORTS FC impressing during its opening week and the company teasing first looks at gameplay and modes in
EA SPORTS College Football 25. The latter has a worldwide launch planned for
July 19 and is generating hype. The company reported a
yearly revenue growth despite missing projections for Q4 2024 and slightly dipping in earnings and revenues Y/Y. EA recently signed a
multi-year partnership with PepsiCo, revealing the company's strategy to expand its horizons. However, the company has also faced challenges, with the announcement of layoffs accounting for
5% of its workforce, and a
Star Wars game cancellation. EA also missed Q4 bookings estimates due to lower consumer spending, leading to softer FY25 guidance. On the brighter side, EA continues to
innovate in gaming by featuring Musqueam Artwork in FIFA 23 and committing to a strategic SWOT Insight.
