Investment activities have been lively with significant purchase and sale of
General Motors (GM) shares. Notably,
Sei Investments Co. bought 76,079 shares whilst
Forsta AP Fonden sold 15,200 shares. GM's shares are repeatedly suggested as trending stock for investment due to their
strong Q2 results. The company announced
plans with Hyundai to co-develop five vehicles indicating a potential shift in its
global strategy. Of significance, GM is
resuming its driverless car program, a year after an incident involving its Cruise robotaxi. In addition, GM intends to invest
$4 billion in its U.S. manufacturing plants. Despite posting a
17% Q1 sales growth, GM confronted a massive profit loss linked to tariffs. As the company deals with the challenges of tariff hits, it has shown resilience via a
7% Q2 U.S. Sales Spike. Moreover, GM's
Chevrolet brand is now ranked the #2 in U.S. EV sales. On the downside, GM faced legal action from
Nebraska accusing it of unlawfully amassing and commercialising driver data. Lastly, in spite of the tariff noise, GM was tagged as a
Strong Buy by analysts.
