Eversource Energy (ES) has recently encountered several challenges. Beyond expectations, the company saw
shares sold by Steward Partners Investment Advisory, and the stock underperformed compared to competitors several times recently. In the past week, the stock has declined 5.3%, extending three-year losses to 21%.
ES has also
missed both Q4 earnings and revenue estimates. However, there have been positive glimpses, such as Eversource being named one of America's Climate Leaders. In the wake of the reports, ES's stock managed to remain steady and even outperformed the market on a few days. Despite these challenges, ES has strong institutional support, around 82-83%. The company also reported its decision to sell its Sunrise Wind project to Γrsted and expects $1.6B in charges due to the divestment, which potentially signals caution. With an intrinsic value potentially 43-57% above its share price, Eversource might still offer a decent long-term proposition.
