Chess game: the 90-second preparation

A 90-second ritual to prepare for your chess game: breathe with a coach, rehearse the moment in your mind, and set an anchor you can recall on the spot.

1 · Arrive — 30 seconds

Breathe with Zineb using the Focus pattern: Inhale 4s · hold 4s · exhale 4s · hold 4s. The coach video and the music follow every inhale and exhale, so you do not have to count.

2 · Rehearse — 45 seconds

  1. Picture the board and the clock before your chess game. Your hands are still.
  2. See your first moves unfold calmly, one by one.
  3. Your opponent plays something unexpected. You exhale and sit on your hands.
  4. Blunder check: before every move you ask, "What does this allow?"
  5. The clock runs low. You stay calm, pick a clear plan and play it.

3 · Anchor — 15 seconds

Touch the edge of the table. Say quietly: “Check.” In the real moment, repeat the gesture and one long exhale to recall the prepared state.

Afterwards — the check-in

AHΞHA asks you later how it went: worse, as expected, or better. Your answers build your personal proof record.

Why mental rehearsal

Athletes, surgeons and musicians have used imagery for decades: vividly imagining an action engages many of the same brain networks as doing it, and slow exhales shift the body toward its calming (parasympathetic) branch. AHΞHA packs both into one short, repeatable ritual. It is a preparation tool, not a medical treatment.
