Southwest Airlines (LUV) made significant steps recently with a new partnership with
T-Mobile for free in-flight WiFi for rewards members, touching down as the official airline of the
SEC and returning nonstop service to Dallas Love Field from OKC. Meanwhile, they sold their
Rewnewable Unit, retreated from climate goals and saw their shares drop 11% due to of full-year profit cuts. Southwest is trying to offset via expansion with routes to Tennessee and plans for a major
West Coast Growth by 2026. They're also launching in-house
vacation packages whilst undergoing a transformation which has led to an all-time high in their stock. However, their Q2 Earnings and Revenues fell short of estimates and a more cautious outlook was given. A dividend of $0.18 also announced. In other news, Southwest airlines is also expanding to
St Thomas and using FAA-mandated cockpit barriers on new Boeing jetliners, though the company still took a hit due to recent layoffs. Lastly, a
new partnership with EVA Air was announced as well as flight network expansions to Asia and the Caribbean.
